He is a retired Firefighter/Paramedic with 23 years of service and 8 years of service in law enforcement. He holds registration from the IDFPR for Firearms Instructor and curriculum for Armed and Unarmed Security. Mr. Stennett is a licensed Illinois State Police CCW Instructor and an NRA Range Safety Officer. He has 5 plus years experience in educating civilians in firearms and taught in excess of 750 students.

Required 3 hour re-certifications program for IL CCW.
Designed for the beginner through advanced student. Learn the basics of firearm safety, responsibility, maintenance and marksmanship. NRA certification awarded.
The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience. Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training with an NRA Certified Instructor.
Pre-requisite NRA Basic Pistol
This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and provides information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.
This course teaches students the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home.
This course is for adult individuals who are not disqualified from possessing a firearm as defined by applicable federal, state or local law and are of good repute and possess defensive pistol skills presented in the NRA Basics Of Personal Protection In The Home Course.
This is the NRA Basic Pistol program that is accepted by the Illinois State Police (ISP) towards the IL CCW requirements. Range fee not included.
This program utilizes the curriculum from the NRA Basic Pistol and PPITH course to satisfy the ISP requirements to achieve your CCW permit.
Required ISP training for renewal of your CCW
Involves review of current IL State CCW law and qualification on range.
